Bubgoeul LX
Description
Bubgoeul LX is a database program developed independently by the Supreme Court since 1997 for the purpose of providing practical legal information to legal professionals, scholars, and members of the general public who, for a variety of reasons, would otherwise not have access to LawWorld (legal information database). Under its new long-term development plan and commensurate with the construction of the digital library, the Supreme Court Library has converted all text format data into XML format, upgraded LawWorld into a web-based system in 2002, and developed an advanced, more convenient version of Bubgoeul DVD that enables XML format data to be viewed in a personal computer (PC) environment. Since 2015, Bubgoeul LX is available in a USB flash drive for use in computers without a disc drive.
Chronology
- 1993: The program was first developed by Attorney Kang Bong-su, former President of the Supreme Court Library.
- June 1996: The Supreme Court Library took over the maintenance of the program.
- March 1997: The copyright of the program was donated to the Supreme Court.
- June 1997: An MS Windows version of the program was developed.
