Classification

The classification table displays designated numbers or letters for individual fields of study, thereby classifying each discipline by its subject or theme. The Supreme Court Library classifies jurisprudence materials according to the Supreme Court Library Classification Table. Other materials are classified by applying the Dewey Decimal Classification (21st ed.).

Cataloging

Cataloging facilitates the search and selection of materials stored in the library. Cataloging enables systematic listings of data according to the author's name, title, publication information, published format, and frequency. Such information is organized into a database applying certain formats that allow for a more effective search. The Korean Machine Readable Cataloging (KORMARC) technical rules are applied for cataloging domestic, Asian, and non-print materials. Western volumes are organized by applying the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules 2 (AACR2).

Author Table

Lee Jae-chul's Dongseo Author Table is applied to domestic and Asian volumes. Cutter-Sanbon's Three-Figure Author Table is applied to western volumes.
